In honour of someone special
We are proud to be raising funds for Mates4Mates to help support veterans impacted by service-related injuries and their families.
Mates4Mates need our help to do more and provide much-needed support and rehabilitation services to those in need.
Our Brother, Duncan Garland served in the Army for ... years. He enjoyed his time in the army, especially the bond he made with his Army Brothers. After ... years of service which included three tours to Afghanistan he was medically discharged from the Army as his body unfortunately could not keep up anymore with the physical demands of the job. This was very hard for Duncan to accept as he lost his sense of belonging and purpose in life.
Mates4Mates provided him with a great support network and connected him with members of the community where he was able to participate in activities that bought joy and purpose to his life. Duncan suffered from PTSD and unfortunately lost his battle on 19 March 2018. We have seen the struggles that our returning veterans face and how important a program like Mates4Mates can be in their recovery, which is why we have started this page. With our fundraising efforts we aim to increase awareness within our community of the support our veterans need and to the amazing work Mates4Mates does.
Mates4Mates aim to change lives through their skills for recovery programs, social connection activities, physical rehabilitation and wellbeing and psychological services.
Please help us make a difference and try to prevent the number of veteran suicides' by donating. Together, our impact is greater!
