Information about the 2024 Premier's Anzac Prize

The 2024 Premier's Anzac Prize is proudly presented in partnership with RSL Queensland.

The Premier's Anzac Prize provides an opportunity for young Queenslanders to gain an in-depth understanding of the Anzac legacy through research, workshops and visits to important memorial sites on the Western Front (UK, France and Belgium). The Western Front is where Australian service people sacrificed so much during World War I.

The 2024 Premier’s Anzac Prize recipients are:

  • Eloise Brown, Mansfield State High School (Brisbane)
  • Elann Malot, Pimlico State High School (Townsville)
  • Bryna van Stom, Pimlico State High School (Townsville)
  • Sophie Robertson, Ayr State High School (Ayr)
  • Jacqueline Loh, Brisbane Girls Grammar School (Brisbane)
  • Bronte Fleming, All Hallows’ School (Brisbane)
  • Katie Somerville, St Monica’s College (Cairns)
  • Grace Roberts, St Joseph’s School (Stanthorpe).

The 2024 Premier’s Anzac Prize Chaperones are:

  • Ms Michelle Pipe, Urangan State High School (Lead Chaperone)
  • Ms Courtney Walls, All Hallows’ School (Brisbane) (General Chaperone).

The annual Premier's Anzac Prize provides a life-changing opportunity for Queensland high school students to engage with the Anzac tradition first-hand and explore how the Anzac legacy relates to modern Australian life.

The Premier's Anzac Prize is a highly enriching program for young history enthusiasts. Prize recipients are required to take part in activities that build their knowledge and understanding of the Anzac spirit and its relevance in modern Australian and global contexts.

Tasks include research and commemoration of service people, community engagement and fundraising projects, and participation in a tour of key sites important to Australian war history.
